Postling Review - The Search for the Ultimate Social Media Tool Continues

We are searching for the ultimate social media management tool, unfortunately we can’t say that we have found any yet.

That’s not to say that there aren’t any good ones out there. The latest one we are testing is Postling.

Postling is a powerful tool for managing multiple accounts, on multiple platforms.

What’s great about Postling is that most of the features you need are free, which is not the case for other tools.

So what can Postling do for you:

- Probably the most interesting feature is the ability to post to multiple Twitter, accounts, which is key for those who have a personal and a business account.

- You can also manage multiple Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts.

- We were able to manage all of our facebook pages.

Postling also supports 6 of the most popular blogging platforms (WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, Typepad, Squarespace, and Drupal). You can post on any or all of them at the same time, in addition to the option of posting on your Facebook account and/or pages. However, we couldn’t post a video or insert one in a post, which is a major drawback.

- After posting a blog post you are offered the option to tweet about the post and insert the shortened link, you can also announce it on Facebook, Facebook pages, and LinkedIn. Although this can be much better if at least the title of the post was automatically inserted in the tweet instead of starting from an empty tweet!

- A great feature for those of us who are busy, is the ability to schedule posts and status updates on all of your accounts which puts Postling in the league of professional social management tools.

Postling also can manage your Flickr account. For us Flickr is blocked in the UAE and we couldn’t test that feature.

- The premium version offers the ability to manage different brands, so you can group certain accounts under a certain tab, this is very useful to manage your clients’ social media or different brands that you own.

- The premium feature costs $24.99 per month which is ok. However, unless you are managing more than one brands and you need to track certain keywords and trends, the free account will do.

What is missing in Postling:

- The ability to post a video, or insert a video in the post is very important, and we couldn’t figure out how to do it!

- Help is missing as well, there is a community with questions from members and answers from the members and the Postling team. An official help or FAQ is a must for such a tool especially to work out the essentials.

- More control over your post, and controlling the type of post is also missing.

Postling can easily be your dream social media management tool, however, until they resolve the issues of video posting, having an official help page, and allowing more control over the content and shape of blog posts, we will sonctinue our search for the ultimate social media management tool.

What about you? have you found your ultimate tool?

Please share it with us along with what you found great about it.

We look forward to hear from you
